The information provided should not be relied upon for your safety. Your safety depends on your judgment and experience. If uncertain, hire a professional instructor or guide.

Fixed gear, such as bolts, pitons, and slings, should always be considered unsafe due to factors like placement, weathering, and metal fatigue. Always back up fixed gear.
